Third Times a Charm…Or Is It?

Third times a charm or is it? Well, for this trio, I don’t think they turned the charm affect on at all! Of course, field sobriety tests have nothing to do with charm, but they do lead to arrests.

The story tarts out with Carmen Reategui getting pulled over and failing the infamous field sobriety tests, which then leads to her going to jail. As with anyone who is arrested, she gets a free phone call.  Carmen calls her friend Nina Petracca to come down to the police station to pick her up.

Sounds easy enough, drive to the station, get Carmen out of jail, drive home.  Well, it would have been – if Nina wouldn’t have failed the same field sobriety tests in the lobby of the police station!  During all of the this, it is discovered that Ms. Petracca has  seven Vicodin in an unlabeled container so she gets charged with DUI and possession!

My oh my! What to do now? Nina and Carmen just need a ride home.  Ryan Hogan comes to save the day but it’s not his lucky day either.  He comes to pick up the ladies smelling like a brewery and fails the field sobriety tests too.

Luckily, they were able to find someone that was able to pick them all up, but there are a few things that can be learned from this story:

  1. Don’t drink and drive.
  2. If you are stopped by the police, do not submit to field sobriety tests.
  3. Don’t drive to the police station if you have been drinking at all.

If you are arrested for a DWI, possession charge or any other crime for that matter, our DWI attorneys are ready to defend you. We will make sure the police followed all legal procedures leading up to your arrest by investigating the reason for the initial stop, and how the police determined there was enough evidence to arrest you. Remember, no matter how charming you may be, the police are not going to let you go if they suspect you are under the influence of alcohol. Refuse any and all field sobriety and breath tests and let us fight for your rights!
