Wax on, wax off and we are not talking about Mr. Miagi’s lessons in Karate Kid. As the government refuses to legalize cannabis, the weed connoisseurs are continuously creating new ways to get high. Whether it is for medicinal purposes or recreational, the more the laws are established, the more ingenious weed lovers become.
I am sure most of you have heard about the E-Cigarette, an electronic cigarette also known as an electronic vaping device, that is a battery-powered device which simulates tobacco smoking. It generally uses a heating element that vaporizes a liquid solution. Some solutions contain a mixture of nicotine and flavorings, while others release a flavored vapor without nicotine. Police officers in Florida recently discovered “weed wax” during a search.
Weed wax is a concentrated form of cannabis that can be used by putting a small amount on the tip of an e-cigarette so that the user can inhale the vapor of the heated weed wax. Weed wax is probably the most THC concentrate on the market experts say. It is more than 80% pure THC, whereas the leaf is only about 20% to 30%.
Experts are also warning about the dangers of “home-made wax”. It is made by packing long tubes full of marijuana leaves then shooting compressed butane through the tube. The THC begins to seep out of tube into a pan and then processed into a wax. (Do NOT try this at home.) The weed wax can be contaminated by the butane. Also this process can blow up.
Do you think ending prohibition would eliminate the dangerous practices associated with making new forms of cannabis?
